Violet quietly settled into her spot on Plant Street in 2009.  Over the years, she has watched Winter Garden grow from a sleepy, little town into the cultural and commercial capital of West Orange county.  Many people walk, jog and bike along the West Orange Trail that runs directly across the street from Violet.  She has become a unique and cherished landmark to many in town and not a day goes without someone taking a picture with her. Violet even gets fan mail from people asking, “Why is she purple?” or “When will she be dressed up for Christmas?”  Violet takes it all in stride and dreams of being put out to pasture in her golden years.
